Finally had time to check out the new location. There was plenty of parking. The area was a little rundown, but the actual food hall is nice and neat. Outside there are several picnic tables, and inside is just a waiting area. There is a kiosk where you can order food or you can order online. The wait wasn't long at all. Less than 20mins. I got the bibimbap, mandu dumplings, and Soojeonggwa (refreshing spiced sweet drink). I also got a cute little pancake and grape candy. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasty! Prefect crunch on the veggies in the bibimbap, beef is the way to go. Dumplings were crispy and the beef was sooo flavorful. Definitely coming back to try some more dishes. They also have watermelon juice that is one of my favorites for summer.

Lovely little restaurant. With staple Korean dishes. Great service. The restaurant is owned by the sweetest Korean couple. We often come here for lunch and are always seen quickly. Our group enjoyed their kimchi fried rice, bibimbap, spicy pork, and bulgogi.

Finding the cafe at first was confusing at first. Upon parking, I first walked-in to ask the building security if this was in fact where the cafe is. He confirmed its location in the building as it is tucked on the basement floor of the H-E-B wellness high-rise. Once I brought my family back inside with me, the security man was kind enough to remind my Latino family that cypress is a Korean food cafe (assuming that maybe some guests are not aware prior to choosing to eat at Cypress Cafe) We took the elevator downstairs and then found the spot with ease. I brought my family here to introduce them to Korean Cuisine. The restaurant was basically empty with only 2-3 other customers who came and went during our brunch experience. We were quickly greeted and given the menus. The lady worker was extremely efficient, did not make much small talk which might overshadow her hospitality but don't be fooled, she is a sweetheart!! She helped me explain the dishes to my family members to help them try less intimidating dishes since they were very unfamiliar with the cuisine. We chose to order food and share the plates family-style between us all. Our appetizers were the Creamy Shrimp, Pork Steamed Dumplings, and we were given a complimentary seafood pancake to share amongst the table. They all came out very fast, and hot!! The seafood pancake was crispy, had great batter flavor, and had mixed in veggies for a fried/fresh bite along with soy/sweet dipping sauce. Scrumptious. The pork dumplings were served in the wooden steamer and featured large dumplings with good amounts of meat! They were not very soupy inside, but still extremely juicy with excellent tasting pork. The creamy shrimp was easily the family favorite for brunch. The shrimp pieces were large, and drenched with cream that tasted like condensed milk, i enjoyed the sweet and savory combination. The crispy shrimp were delicious and an amazing texture. Our entrees we chose all came with banchan!! I was so happy because I've been trying to put so much people on kimchi! The kimchi did not taste like it was fermented for very long as the cabbage still looked pretty-green and not as sour as I was expecting but it was still very good. My ramen bowl was delicious, the broth was much more watery than creamy and had lots of filling veggies, egg, and 2 large crispy shrimp. The broth was served hot and slight spicy, I thought it was perfect!! The chicken and beef bulgogi were both served on a steamy skillet which added slight char to the meat for good texture and was smothered with sweet/crunchy onions, sauce, sesame seeds and green onions. The bulgogi came with small bowls of white rice. To my surprise, my family enjoyed the meal way more than I expected!! My grandpa usually had only ever tried more Americanized chinese/Asian food, so since his normal spots were still currently closed that morning, I made the executive decision to expose him and my family to authentic Asian food. My family liked it and my grandpa loved it all (minus for the pancake)!!! This made me so happy since Korean food is currently my favorite cuisine. I'd certainly return hungry for more!! This business and staff is amazing!

Cypress Café is not the easiest place to find, but absolutely worth the adventure! It is located inside of the Cypress tower and parking is located across the street. Walking into the building you will totally think you are in the wrong place but security was very kind and pointed me in the right direction. We were seated right away, you just go up to the refrigerators and pick whatever beverage you want, as we were sitting and deciding on food, we were brought out some complementary little shrimp pancakes, which were really lovely. We were totally thrilled with everything we ordered, the Bulgogi dumplings were absolutely amazing, I got mine fried just because I like the crisp but I'm sure they would be just as good steamed. The creamy shrimp were excellent, it's a very light tempura batter, and the sauce Was perfect, not heavy at all. My Ramen was great, had nice chunks of zucchini in it, which was different, but was perfect, slight spiciness. The inside is very small, so I do not recommend going there. If you have to have a car seat or stroller, it is very compact and the tables are small. Very cool place, their kimchi is also delicious and you can buy it by the jar. They do not bring you your check, when you are done eating, you just go up to the counter and pay. I will definitely be coming back here, great price point and delicious food!

I had an errand to run downtown, and this place is only open during the week. I have had it marked in a personal collection forever! It is a very small unassuming place within the cypress building, so you will not see it from the street. The pancake was amazing, and a free appetizer that the server gave us. I ordered the dumplings and beef Bulgogi. The dumplings were some of the best I've ever had. The beef Bulgogi was very good as well. My wife ordered the beef ramen, and she loved her food. Get into this place ASAP!

This is the best Korean meal I've had yet! Cypress Cafe should be a a MUCH bigger name than it is and have a line out the basement door. The problem is finding it. They are located in the basement of an office tower. Parking is weird, but park across the street or in the street if possible and walk into the basement. Security may give you a weird look but they'll be unerstanding if they know you're going to Cypress. They're delicious, and I couldn't possibly pick a favorite dish because everything is so perfectly prepared! I do recommend the chicken gangjeong and spicy pork. The complimentary appetizer pancake and sides are a wonderful touch to an already fantastic experience. Jars of house made kimchi and a few imported Korean snacks area also available. There is almost never a wait for a table and a lunch rush doesn't exist.

Wow talk about a hole in the wall. This place was a great hidden gem. If it weren't for the internet, I would've never known this was here. Tucked into the base level of a medical building, don't let the location discourage you from going. There's plenty of free parking behind in a lot. Coming in, I had never tried Korean food other than "Korean BBQ." The food was pretty delicious and on the sweeter side. If I'm trying a new cuisine, I like to ask the waiter/waitress what they would eat if they were in my shoes. Never a bad suggestion, it's well understood why this place has been here for over a decade. Come give it a try!
